Illinois Court Records

Illinois court records can be obtained from the various institutions maintained in the overall legal infrastructure dedicated to State courts in United States. These settings provide for the hearing and then storage of various forms of Illinois court records, as pertain to various kinds of motions and legal actions, such as habeas corpus.

The Illinois circuit court system is made up, in all, of twenty-three circuits, formed out of the 102 counties in the State as a whole. Among these, circuit systems comprised of just a single county include those of the Cook County, DuPage County, Lake County, McHenry County, and Will County Circuit Court systems.

The exception to cases which can be heard through a Will County Circuit Court, or any other Illinois circuit court settings, and thereby entered into Illinois court records, consist of those which pertain to the office-holding ability of the State Governor and redistricting which takes place in relation to the Illinois General Assembly.

Among the Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry, and Will County Circuit Court systems, the largest of these is comprised of Cook County. In contrast to the single-county Illinois Circuit Courts, other settings for Illinois court records and judicial decision-makings are incorporated into systems which hold authority over more than one county, and as such, may include from 2 to 12. The Illinois Circuit courts, such as, for example, that of the Will County Circuit Court system, are administered through the authority of two different kinds of judges, comprised of associate and circuit judges.
