Function of A Process Server

Process Server

Process servers are the individuals designated and empowered for the task of informing other parties that they have been called before some kind of legal tribunal or other administrative body vested with judicial power. A Process Server will typically be directed to provide some signed and officially-designated document which informs the particular individual of his or her obligation to appear during a legal proceeding.

Moreover, process servers serve the function not only of allowing that person to know that he or she must appear in a court of law, but also of allowing this notification to have legal effect, and for this person to be truly bound by the decision originally taken in a court. As such, process servers are often employed for cases in which the individual to be called before the court is known to have some reluctance to participate in the judicial proceeding and may face difficulty in fulfilling this task.
